My Story

Before I started blogging, I was working at my dream job in the wedding industry. But everything changed after I received a devastating phone call from my boyfriend (now husband) telling me that his brother had been murdered.

Shock and disbelief washed over me. We had just spent Christmas together in Honduras, and this was the last photo we took as a family. I felt lost, angry, and didn’t know what to do… all I knew was that I had to go to Honduras to support my him and his family.

I called my boss to request time off for the funeral, but his response was shocking, he said “NO… because it would affect sales.” In that moment, I realized I was nothing more than a dollar sign to the company.

So, I quit, packed up my life in Chicago, and moved to Honduras. What I didn’t anticipate was how difficult the transition would be. I began to feel incredibly isolated. I had moved to a dangerous country, left my home, my friends, and my job, and I didn’t speak Spanish at the time.

Mission statement

In search of an outlet, I started LadyBossBlogger and within a week, to my surprise, I began monetizing it! Prior to, I had no idea blogs could even make money!

A year later, the Huffington Post (aka Thrive Global) reached out to interview me about my blog and the rapid organic growth I had achieved.

Fast forward and I had worked as a content creator for major companies like Amazon, Samsung, and Best Buy, amassed over 300,000 followers across my social media platforms, and been featured in more than 500 media outlets, 5 magazines, 3 books, and spoken at several conferences in front of thousands of people.
